TAG Heuer and Rodale Inc.’s Runner’s World teamed up to find the two most inspiring runners in America to highlight on its December cover during the 2015 Runner’s World Cover Search.
Each cover search applicant selected his or her own hashtag that best described their passion for running, and answered three questions: “Why do you run?” “What are your most significant running accomplishments?” and “How has running changed your life or the lives of other people?”
The December covers featuring the two winners were revealed by Runner’s World Editor-in-Chief David Willey and TODAY Show host Natalie Morales, exclusively on the TODAY Show during the 9 a.m. hour on NBC. Runner’s World Editor-In-Chief David Willey was joined by Runner’s World Executive Editor Tish Hamilton; Runner’s World Chief Running Officer Bart Yasso; Natalie Morales, co-host of NBC’s TODAY Show; Peter Ciaccia, Race Director of the TCS NYC Marathon and New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist to select the winners from thousands of applicants.
We went looking for two awesome runners to appear on the December cover of Runner’s World,” Willey said. “What we uncovered were thousands of inspiring stories – how lives were saved, or altered, or made whole by running. Getting to 11 finalists was agonizing in the best way. We salute everyone who shared their personal story. There are no losers here.”
“TAG Heuer is thrilled to be a part of the Runner’s World Cover Search. The personal stories shared by runners across America have been very inspiring.” said Kilian Muller, TAG Heuer President and CEO. “These athletes have overcome many obstacles and have walked many different paths; they all truly embody the TAG Heuer #DontCrackUnderPressure mentality.”
TAG Heuer’s North American President and CEO, Kilian Muller presented the two winners with watches at a celebration in the brand’s Fifth Avenue boutique directly after the unveiling on the Today Show.
