New case, new construction, new design and new calibre. Presenting the TAG Heuer Carrera - Heuer 01. A Manufacture chronograph symbolically christened the Heuer 01 in honour of the founder, Edouard Heuer. 01 because it represents the markedly horological development of the calibre 1887, on which the backbone of the new collection will be based.
Its supremely clean new design reveals the chronograph controls and the openworked date disc on the dial side. On the case-back, its red column wheel - a bold visual anchor - the skeleton chronograph bridge and the black weight also draw the eye into the mechanism. It features a new generation TAG Heuer case. Made from titanium carbide coated steel for greater shock resistance, it is constructed differently, no longer the single piece traditionally used by TAG Heuer, but modular with 12 different components. This design opens up a huge range of possibilities, with an infinite combination of materials, colours, treatments and finishes. The piece is completed by a strap in perforated black rubber for a stylish, sporty look highly characteristic of TAG Heuer, yet with a renewed style thanks to its interplay of transparency and depth effects on both sides.
The special edition designed for Cara Delevingne is part of the TAG Heuer Carrera collection. It picks up on the same codes: the elegant case with faceted lugs and the clear, highly legible dial are in stark contrast to its entirely black and charcoal grey treatment. For a feminine touch, and to add an edge to the look, the appliques and hands are rose gold-plated.
The show continues "backstage": the back of the case is stamped with the majestic head of a lion – the "king of beasts" – to denote the star sign under which Cara was born in August 1992. The inside of the strap bears the signature of the star herself in rose gold; like the brand, this resonates with an ultra-connected generation, which has an eye for beauty and is looking for an exclusive, disruptive design. We bet this special edition will bring a smile to many a face!
Ayrton Senna's return to TAG Heuer also marked the reveal of the Senna Collection comprised of four new special-edition timepieces and new dedicated advertising campaign. Each watch features the famous stylized Senna ‘S’ in red lacquer, on the dial, case back and bezel, complete with a tachymeter scale, giving the timepiece real racing spirit and Senna’s performance touch. The iconic ‘Legend’ bracelet, with its S-shaped links, also makes a return – the same style worn by Ayrton but redesigned and rounded for optimum comfort.
The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph Senna Edition is a 43mm-diameter quartz chronograph measuring to the nearest tenth of a second and with date function. Anthracite grey dial, three counters and elegant touches of ‘Legend’ red to give it the racing spirit – the same red as the famous stylized Senna ‘S’, on the dial, case back and bezel, complete with a tachymeter scale. The timepiece is completed by the famous ‘Legend’ steel bracelet to give a unique exclusive style touch of the Senna brand.
Question: Where is the best place to experience the immense talent of Cristiano Ronaldo? Answer: On a football pitch! So, what's his symbolic colour? Green, of course! TAG Heuer dares to go green for the TAG Heuer Formula 1 CR7 chronograph, a numbered limited edition in tribute to a man who is already a living football legend. Alongside the vibrant green, evoking the grass of the pitch, matt black lends this piece a distinctly assertive character.
The green flange, matching the hands and the indices, strikes a bold note against the black chequered dial. The white TAG Heuer and CR7 logos add a necessary hint of brightness which catches the eye. The perfectly matching green and black NATO strap is an integral part of the design of this chronograph, sporting its colours in style. Directly inspired by the nylon straps used by the British Army during the Second world War, it is ultra-resilient and sits perfectly on any wrist. To ensure impeccable quality, the keepers, buckle and pin are made from 316L stainless steel and both the ends of the strap and the buckle holes are laser-cut, with "TAG Heuer" hot-stamped underneath. The completely black bezel, coated with titanium carbide, bears the chronograph's tachymeter scale. Taking the form of a large ring, it gives this piece real impact, and a resolutely sporty look. The chronograph is accurate to a tenth of a second, with the indication displayed by a small counter at 6 o'clock. The small counter at 9 o'clock displays the chronograph minutes, and the counter at 3 o'clock is for the current seconds. These three small counters are snailed, with their intense, elegant black set against the black chequered finish of the large dial.
The vintage look and shape of this new black and silver chronograph, is also based on Jack Heuer’s Carrera design. That makes it look like the original two-counter Carrera of the sixties, a collector’s favorite with the black chronograph counter at nine o’clock and the second one at three. It is not a standard chronograph, it has a telemeter scale on the flange, an old tool imagined for military, to measure distance of artillery fire, based on the speed of sound. Why not using it during a thunderstorm to know how far from you it is? A unique feature in the recent TAG Heuer collections.
The black perforated leather strap along with the shape of the push-buttons as well as the small 39 mm-dial enhance this retro taste. The clasp of the strap is signed by the engraved HEUER logo, making it unique up to the tiniest details. The dial is branded HEUER with the vintage logo, this special branding is a signature for a unique timepiece, a link between history and modernity. To go further on this vintage vibe, the movement is placed under a glassbox, making the whole design look thinner. The splendid caliber 18 can be admired thanks to the sapphire back-case. “Côtes de Genève”on the oscillating mass. An astonishing piece, both graphic and elegant, easy to wear for those who love vintage design!
This new silver and blue three-hand piece, with a touch of red on the flange’s “60”, the HEUER logo and the second hand, looks like a colored tribute to the original 1963-Carrera design. The blue small second counter matches the blue vintage perforated leather strap. The HEUER logo on the clasp of the strap personifies the style up to the tiniest details. The silver, blue and red combination gives to this watch a very retro-trendy look.
This three-hands is powered by the prestigious COSC-certified Calibre 6, with a power reserve of 44 hours and a beautiful decoration, “Côtes de Genève” on the oscillating mass. Eventually the glassbox makes its look more airy, more pure, truly in this vintage inspiration. Classic yet unconventional, the HEUER Carrera suits perfectly to those who appreciate standout design. Collectors and fashion lovers should go for it straight away.
Calibre 17 – Titanium Chronograph
40 Years of Monza
Numbered Special Edition 42mm
The 2016 reissue features the watch's two key functions - the pulsometer and the tachymeter scale (not included on previous reissues) - and with the original font.
Of course, the famous original coussin case is the centrepiece, and is all black, just like the historic model, with black and white lacquered hour and minute hands as on the original. The same applies to the indices in vintage orange SuperLuminova™. Likewise, the historic HEUER logo on the dial, which attests to the model's place in the manufacture's historic collection. A link from past to present, the case is now made from grade 5 titanium (previously steel), making it lighter and more shock resistant. The material is coated with titanium carbide to give it a powerful, matt black appearance.
