Best watches for men and for women
Men’s watches and women’s watches by TAG Heuer: where timekeeping becomes an art.

Renowned for their quality and precision, Swiss watches and luxury watches are one and the same. And within the world of Swiss watches, TAG Heuer timepieces are in a class apart. Boasting avant-garde design and advanced technology, they are more than just luxury timepieces or mere sports watches – they are in a category all their own.

TAG Heuer combines manual craftsmanship with the best and latest technology, for ladies’ and men’s watches that bear witness to heritage while inspiring innovation and excellence. Resolutely modern yet enduringly sophisticated, a TAG Heuer watch goes beyond sublime aesthetics: its automatic watches boast high frequencies ranging from 21,600 vibrations per hour to up to 360,000 (as in the case of the Caliber 360), ensuring excellent mechanical precision. For this reason, a number of its automatic watch movements have been awarded the prestigious Official Swiss Chronometer Control (C.O.S.C.) certificate.

It comes as no surprise, then, that TAG Heuer chronograph watches are celebrated as the pinnacle of Swiss watch precision timekeeping. These luxury sport watches are the official timekeepers of one of the world’s most prestigious racing events, the Monaco Grand Prix. In addition, TAG Heuer is the official partner of both America’s-Cup-winner Oracle Team USA and esteemed Formula 1 automotive manufacture McLaren – for a perfect marriage of speed and timekeeping accuracy.

Aesthetically, TAG Heuer timepieces are equally as impressive. Crafted by experts in their field, these luxury Swiss watches combine the finest materials in flawless harmony. Whether blending the best in traditional materials – such as soft calfskin, fine alligator leather, precious solid gold or robust stainless steel – or accenting them with newer, more contemporary materials – including high-tech rubber and modern fabric – TAG Heuer blurs the lines between the preconceived notions of sports watches and luxury watches. Its quality finishes, including fine brushing, black PVD finish and ruthenium treatment, are both refined yet innovative, visually appealing yet always practical.

Meanwhile, its watches for women are the height of understated elegance. Its diamond watches, in particular, add a touch of feminine sparkle to the iconic men’s watch models that have made the TAG Heuer name: the TAG Heuer Carrera, the Monaco, the Link, the Aquaracer and the TAG Heuer Formula 1. With luxury materials and scaled back lines, these stylish ladies’ timepieces carry on the tradition of fine craftsmanship and impeccable precision that has been part of the brand’s DNA for over a century.

All this to say that TAG Heuer timepieces are about more than just luxury or precision: they are the bearer of the finest in Swiss craftsmanship pushed boldly into the future. Aesthetically sublime yet decidedly reliable, finely crafted yet resolutely high-tech, contemporary yet refined, TAG Heuer gives new meaning to the best watches for men and for women.

High functionality and masculine styling make this Calibre 16 Automatic Chronograph a necessity for all lovers of motor racing. A high-tech Calibre 16 automatic movement powers the chronograph functions like central seconds, plus minutes and hours. A small seconds counter is positioned at 9 o'clock and a date feature at 3 o'clock. An open flange design allows for easy readability of seconds. A tachymeter scale on the bezel gives average speed measurement.

TAG Heuer Automatic chronographs make it possible

to measure times with an accuracy

of 1/8th of a second. They are all fitted with very high-

frequency Swiss movements and represent one of the

great achievements in the long watchmaking tradition

and history of the company.

AUTOMATIC CHRONOGRAPH FUNCTIONS

The principal characteristics of TAG Heuer automatic

Cleaning

To maintain the aesthetic appeal of your watch and keep it in good working order, you should clean it regularly as follows:

  • First make sure the crown is fully screwed down.
  • If the seals in your TAG Heuer watch have been changed and tested at an authorised TAG Heuer service centre within the last 12 months, then you can use a soft brush with slightly soapy water to clean the case and bracelet, then rinse it with clear water and dry it with a soft cloth. If your watch is fitted with a strap made from fabric, leather, alligator or python skin, take care not to get it wet
  • If you have any doubts about the water-resistance of your watch, simply clean it with a soft brush then dry it.
  • Avoid contact with chemical products (solvents, detergents, cosmetics, etc.) They may damage the bracelet and the water-resistance gaskets.
Condensation

If the temperature changes suddenly, a slight amount condensation may appear under the crystal of your watch. This mist will disappear by itself and will not affect the functioning of the watch. If the condensation persists, please see your official TAG Heuer dealer.

Water-resistance

Water resistance is not a permanent condition.  The rubber seals that are designed to ensure against water entry, are under constant pressure and given time will deteriorate.
For this important reason we recommend that a watch should be checked annually to ensure that the seals remain intact.
This thorough and extensive testing includes pressure tests and bench tests and is considered an essential element in the care and maintenance of our watches.

SETUP

For all movements

  • Make sure that your watch is perfectly dry.
  • Move the crown carefully to make the various changes that are possible.
  • Avoid changing the date between 8:00 pm and 4.00 am.
  • Once the changes are made, push the crown back in and (depending on the model) screw it down against the case to preserve its water-resistance.

For mechanical movements

  • When a mechanical self-winding watch is not worn for a certain amount of time, its power reserve (42 – 48 hours depending on the model) is exhausted and the watch stops. To restart it, unscrew the crown if necessary (depending on the model) and wind the movement manually by turning the crown 30- 40 times. This will give it a sufficient power reserve to function normally.
  • A non-automatic mechanical watch has to be wound every day, winding is complete when you feel the crown resist. Your TAG Heuer is then wound to the maximum. It is important not to force the crown of a hand-wound watch to avoid damaging the mechanism.
bracelets/leather straps

Straps in fabric, leather and alligator or python skin

  • Avoid all contact with water (baths, showers etc). Despite your care and attention, leather is a natural, living material and its color will fade a little over time.

Quality

A SERIES OF 60 TESTS AND RIGOROUS INSPECTION OF EVERY WATCH. A 2-YEAR INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY INVOLVING ALL OUR AUTHORIZED RETAILERS. CUSTOMER SERVICE OF MORE THAN 500 PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD. ONE OF THE HIGHEST RELIABILITY RATES IN THE INDUSTRY: FEWER THAN 1 % RETURNS. ONE OF THE QUICKEST SERVICE AND REPAIR TIMES AVAILABLE .

01 WATER-RESISTANCE
The water-resistance of a sports watch protects the components, reduces the need for servicing and prolongs the life of the movement. TAG Heuer performs tests on 100% of its production, in water and under pressure. The professional diving chronograph, the Aquaracer 500M, must also pass a special test to verify that its push-buttons are water-resistant and operational down to 500m. This procedure has required specific testing equipment to be created.

02 RESISTANCE TO U.V. AGEING
Heat and light often have an adverse effect on plastics, varnishes and leather. The TAG Heuer quality laboratory carries out stringent tests to verify the stability of these materials over time: they are exposed to the equivalent of strong summer sunlight for three full days. This ensures that all the materials used are highly reliable at all latitudes and in all seasons.

03 EXTREME TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE
The temperature of a watch exposed to the sun for a long period can exceed 40°C, while in winter it can fall below zero. For this reason, individual components as well as complete watches are tested, particularly in tropical conditions, to ensure they will function correctly and accurately between 0°C and 50°C.

04 RESISTANCE TO THE EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT
Chlorine, sulphur, perspiration and sea salt can attack the materials in a watch or reduce the mobility of certain components. TAG Heuer carries out tests on cases, crowns, metal bracelets, as well as leather and rubber straps, to ensure that they are resistant to potentially damaging elements and have no effect on the skin. Only materials that meet the brand’s standards are approved for use.

05 TRACTION-RESISTANCE
Simply putting on and taking off a watch causes wear and tear on the buckle of a leather strap or the clasp of a metal bracelet. TAG Heuer submits buckles and clasps to a traction of 15-20 kg over 5,000 cycles, followed by twisting under tension. No component must show any signs of permanent deformation or tearing.

06 VIBRATION-RESISTANCE
In a Formula 1 car, on a motor-bike or on a mountain bike, wristwatches are subjected to brief, repetitive movements and intense vibration. To test the robustness, precision and integrity of its watches under these conditions, TAG Heuer has developed a machine that reproduces this vibration at a level well above normal. The test must not affect the operation of the watch, its components, bracelet and screws, nor reveal any sign of fatigue.

07 SHOCK-RESISTANCE
In everyday life or when playing a sport it is easy to forget that you are wearing a watch on your wrist. It only takes a sudden quick movement and the watch can hit something hard. To avoid watches suffering such shocks, TAG Heuer carries out rigorous tests on machines that reproduce the shock waves of a significant impact. The watch being tested must not show any signs of mechanical damage.

08 RESISTANCE TO WEAR AND TEAR
All watch functions are subjected to tests that reproduce not only a wearer’s everyday movements but also typical accidents. The turning bezel, crown and push-buttons undergo more than 5,000 testing cycles, equivalent to several years of use in normal conditions.

09 FRICTION-RESISTANCE
TAG Heuer watches are intended to accompany their owner through all life’s adventures. For this reason, the brand carries out accelerated wear tests on cases and bracelets so that, if necessary, the coating of a case or a metal bracelet can be modified to increase its resistance to friction.

10 ANALYSIS OF MATERIALS AND METAL PLATING
All alloys and decorative plating in precious metals are systematically tested. Fluorescence X analysis tests the content of precious elements (carats) and plating thickness. Tests are carried out separately and in tandem to obtain a realistic picture of what the watch is subjected to on a daily basis. This procedure is entirely new in watchmaking.
